About VanTUG
Vancouver Technology User Group
Vancouver's community of practice for enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and IT operations — serving technology professionals across Metro Vancouver since 1996.
Founded in 1996, the Vancouver Technology User Group (VanTUG) has served as a gathering place for enterprise IT professionals across Metro Vancouver for nearly three decades. What began as the Vancouver NT User Group has evolved alongside the industry — from on-premises infrastructure to hybrid cloud, identity, security, and modern operations.
In 2026, VanTUG began an intentional evolution from a meetup-driven model to a program-driven Community of Practice model — structured learning pathways, practitioner-led knowledge sharing, and professional development for working technology professionals.
VanTUG exists to connect technology professionals through practitioner-led learning, industry collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Through our Communities of Practice, we help bridge the gap between emerging technologies and real-world enterprise implementation.
Our Principles
Vendor-Neutral
Independent, education-focused sessions — not product pitches or sales agendas. We prioritize practitioner knowledge and real-world experience over vendor marketing.
Education-Led
Structured pathways and workshops designed to build practical, real-world skills. Our Communities of Practice offer progressive learning from foundations to advanced topics.
Community-First
Built by practitioners, contributors, and volunteers advancing enterprise IT in Vancouver. Every session, pathway, and initiative is shaped by the people who show up and contribute.
Meet the Leadership Team
VanTUG is guided by practitioners and community builders committed to supporting Vancouver's technology ecosystem through structured learning, industry collaboration, and professional knowledge sharing.
